Bolt’s Short Memory

May 15, 2012

With the arrival of a boat carrying 121 suspected asylum seekers Andrew Bolt says “The boats seem to be bigger these days.”

It seems that Bolt has a short memory.

The MV Tampa rescued 438 asylum seekers from one vessel in 2001. Other boats have arrived carrying many more asylum seekers.

Bigger?  I don’t think so.

Smaller numbers of arrivals doesn’t fit his narrative, but the facts have never stopped Bolt before.  He will willingly lie to continue the perception that asylum seekers are flooding our shores.
